After a very dry and sunny winter, we finally got some snow! It looked absolutely incredible falling on the pine trees in the distance.
D was not afraid or hesitant, he would have skipped his nap to stay out there I am sure of it.
He got right to work and was busy the whole time he was outside.
I brought my DSLR out with an umbrella and was having way too much fun taking pictures of the trees.
He finally kept his mittens on, a first. I'm thinking it finally clicked.

We've been told that we were having an unusually warm winter. I chose to disregard those "bring you back to earth" comments during our 50-60 degree January. Turns out, all those people weren't kidding. I have never seen snowflakes so large in my whole life. These pictures definitely don't do them justice.
Filling buckets, shovel shovel, dump the snow in a great big pile. "SNOWMAN, SNOWMAN!"
Can you spy the little snow family in the background?
Declan had such a fun day. It was that magic that only exists during childhood. To him? Everything was perfect. There were no worries, no deadlines, nothing to even think about except making "more snowman!" (By dinner time he had 7 snowman). It was a great day and I'm so glad I snuck my camera out into the snow to capture these precious fleeting moments.
You only build your first snowman once.
